Overview: Race Start Time is 10 AM. The start time will be staggered….fastest runners will begin ﬁrst. We will send 40 to 50 runners off every 30 seconds. This will allow the ﬁeld of runners to thin out in the ﬁrst half mile so that when single track trail is encountered there will be plenty of running room for everyone. Each runner will be independently chip timed, your ﬁnish time will be an accurate reﬂection of what you accomplished that day.
Course: The 5k course starts and ends at This Is The Place, Heritage Park, located here www.thisistheplace.org. We will be utilizing the Brigham Young Forest Farmhouse for race staging. Runners will wind their way through Heritage Park for the ﬁrst quarter of a mile. At the quarter mile mark everyone will hit the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. The views from the trail are spectacular. The trail is a lolipop style course. While not an extremely difﬁcult trail run, nonetheless it is still a challenging course. Beginners and experienced trail runners will love (and hate) the varied nature of the 5k course.
Timing: You will be professionally chip timed by Elevated Racing. Each runner will receive a RFID chip to attach to your body. This will provide you with immediate results when you ﬁnish. Your friends and family will also be able to see your results immediately online when you cross the Finish Line.
Packet Pick Up: Race sponsor Salt Lake Running will host packet pick up on Thursday, September 25th at their 700 E 2454 store. Packet Pick up will be from Noon to 7:00 PM on Thursday. There will also be packet pick up on race morning from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at the race venue. You must present a photo ID to pick up your packet. Packets will include your race bib, timing chip, cool race tee’s, and plenty of extras from our sponsors.
5K Awards: Male and Female Overall 1st, 2nd, & 3rd; Male & Female Age Group Top 3; ﬁnisher certiﬁcates for everyone, rafﬂe prizes at the Awards Ceremony
Race Amenities: Cool Race Tee Shirts, Marked Course with Volunteers & Staff staged at key locations, Water Station at the half-way point, Finisher Certiﬁcates, Post Race Awards Ceremony, Post Race Food & Beverages
Training Program: Salt Lake Running and Mountain Land Physical Therapy are teaming up to provide a variety of learning and training opportunities. The seminars and programs begin June, 2014. Entered athletes will have the opportunity to participate in all sessions and/or plans.
